Meet at Colorado Mountain Club in Golden Colorado at 7:30 AM. We will Carpool to the Trailhead.

The first of a series of six progressively more difficult hikes in the Ascending Hikes Series - held each Friday for six weeks. Ascending hikes are meant to help get in shape through the season and build upon hiking knowledge. Our Goal in this first hike of the series will be to introduce people to hiking best practices and procedures, gear selection, basic navigation tools, safety, and etiquette.

White ranch park is a close to town JEFFCO park. Sometimes in the spring JEFFCo will close certain parks if conditions are muddy: Relocating the hike to another close by location is always a possibility in spring hikes.

Everyone should bring the ten essentials (google is your friend). A hiking stick or treking pole is recommended. If conditions are snowy and/or icy you will need microspikes (yakTrax or similar) for snow or ice conditions (doubtful this late in the seaon at low elevation but it can happen).

Leader will send out a GPX track and Details on the route and conditions 2 days prior to the hike.

You should be comfortable with achieving a 5+ mile hike.

Ascending Hikes are meant to help with conditioning and we always adjust our pace to meet the needs of the group.
