Ascending Hikes - Endurance – Mt. of the Holy Cross
EXPLORATORY HIKE: Trip leader has not scouted or hiked this 14er! This classic ascent of Mount of the Holy Cross is often considered one of the most picturesque fourteener hikes in Colorado. The mountain does pose a formidable challenge with a route that will take us up and over Half Moon Pass.

EXPLORATORY HIKE: Trip leader has not participated nor led this hike! Reliance on paper and electronic resources for maximum safety and route finding. This hike is only for those with significant summer and fall conditioning activities to prepare for this high ascent.
Arrive at the Wooly Mammoth CDOT Park-N-Ride, Section EE, 18560 US-40, Golden, CO 80401 Plan to meet on Friday, October 24th, 11:45am, form carpools, depart by 12:00pm. All vehicles require either AWD or 4WD. We'll drive to the Mount of the Holy Cross trailhead, near Minturn, CO. We'll camp at the trailhead campsites on Friday night. Plan on an alpine start on Saturday morning. Bring cash for carpool expenses.
Required Equipment
Winter clothing and equipment required! 10 essentials. Be prepared for winter weather summit conditions. Bring traction control devices - YakTrax, microspikes, crampons - for travel over snow packed and icy trail conditions.
