We will start at the Green Rock Trailhead in Wyoming just past the Snowy Range Ski Area. The group will go down the Barber Trail to the Libby Creek Loop. On the Libby Loop we will go up off trail in a couple areas to catch some powder in the trees (note the runs are short enough everyone does not have to participate). After completing the loops we will go up off trail to the north-east then down through the trees back to the Barber Trail .... and back to the trailhead.
To register for this trip contact the trip leader at fccmcguy@gmail.com. PLEASE READ THE REQUIRED EQUIPMENT SECTION! Also note since the trail goes up and down a bit skis with fish scales are the best for this trip.
Required Equipment
Due to the off trail portions you MUST have Backcountry Nordic (BCX) skis. Long "skinny" skis will sink. You MUST also have skins (kicker skins are fine) because IF the trail is icy it is very difficult to climb on trail in a few areas.
