Backcountry Nordic Skiing – RMNP - West Glacier Creek Trail
Looks like Thursday should be a good snow day for a ski tour in the Park. We will start at the Storm Mountain trailhead (just above Sprague Lake) and ski up to the meadow below Glacier Gorge parking area, and return to the start point. At the meadow, we might explore some off trail areas N of the meadow. This is a fairly easy route when there's new snow.

We will meet at Pringles parking lot (SW corner of Taft Hill and Drake) at 7:30. We can also meet people at the west Jax in Loveland (NW Corner of Wilson and W. Eisenhauer) or the Estes Park visitor center on Rt. 34. Let me know if you want to join in Loveland or Estes Park. Finishing the day with a late lunch in Estes Park is an option.
Required Equipment
Skins are not needed on this trip as the grades are low to moderate. BCX skiis would be advantageous but not required.
