Backcountry Skiing/Splitboarding – Sniktau via Loveland Pass

Ski and bootpack to Mount Sniktau from Loveland Pass following the standard ridge route. Skiing options from the peak on the return are highly contingent on avalanche conditions and will be evaluated closer to the date of the trip

Participants need AIARE 1 or equivalent and should have ski mountaineering experience with the ability to climb in ski boots with skis on their backs and ski variable conditions with obstacles. 

Details for this trip will be updated closer to the trip date as weather and avalanche conditions are better known. The current plan is to meet at Loveland Pass parking area geared up and ready to start skinning at 10:00 am.

AT ski kit (skis, skins, pack with ski carry option, poles, AT boots suitable for climbing on talus and rock hopping), avalanche rescue gear (beacon, probe, shovel), ice axe, crampons that fit ski boots, winter 14er clothing, and helmet.
