Backcountry Skiing/Splitboarding – Uneva Peak via Vail Pass

A late start low risk BC ski trip on daylight savings day. Sleep in and not the carpool meeting time of 09:00

  • Sun, Mar 9, 2025
  • Denver
  • Backcountry Skiing/Splitboarding
  • Adults
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 5.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,800 ft

There is a $10 per PERSON fee to be paid at the trailhead.

We have several options depending on the snow conditions and group ability/interest. We'll discuss beforehand and I'll provide some caltopo maps that show the various options. Participation in pre-trip planning is appreciated and expected.

All participants are expected to have completed AIARE Level 1 or equivalent. We'll be following the AIARE framework throughout the day. This is always a great tool to help mitigate the risk involved with traveling with a new group. Everyone will be expected to participate in discussions about terrain choice, hazard analysis, etc.

Woolly Mammoth P&R 09:00, Section AA/BB.

If you wish to meet at the trailhead please be ready to skin by 11:00. I'm hoping to start too late for resort traffic.
