Trip description:
This loop around Brown's Peak in Wyoming's Snowy Range is a fairly mellow backpack with big payoff in scenery. We will travel in subalpine and alpine environments without having to gain a ton of vertical or get as high as we do in Colorado. Sparkling lakes, a high pass, rocky peaks, and wooded passages await. Options for going offtrail, adding spurs and more lakes.
No grizzlies in the Snowies, but bear resistant food systems are required.
- Mileage: About 13.5 miles over 3 days
- Gain: About 1800 feet total
- Days 1, 2, and 3 will be nailed down, but should be fairly even in distance
