Backpack – Dominguez Canyon Trail

This is an easy and casual backpack trip in Big Domginuez Canyon. We will hike 7 miles up the canyon from the Bridgeport trailhead, camp out for the night and return the next day.

This is a chance to get out camping one more night before the cool weather arrives.    We will travel at a moderate pace and everyone is welcome.   We need to go about 7 miles to get beyond the day use area and reach the camping area.

Big Dominguez Canyon: Cactus Park to Bridgeport // ADVENTR.co

Meet at the Bridgeport Trailhead at 9:30 am.

To get to the trailhead drive about 20 miles south of Grand Junction, on Highway 50, toward Delta. Turn west on the graveled Bridgeport Road and follow it for a little over 3 miles to the Bridgeport trailhead. There is a restroom at the trailhead.

Basic backpacking equipment including a warm sleeping bag.    

Food and water for hike in and out.      We will be camping along the creek but the quality and quantity of the water could be low.
