Basic Snowshoe – Berthoud Pass - Second Creek TH to Twin Cones

We will begin our trip from Second creek off Berthoud pass , travel up to the Broome hut and weather permitting up to Twin Cones

 The trail begins at the Second Creek Trailhead and enters the forest.  The trail climbs 700’ in just one mile from Highway 40 to the hut, which overlooks an alpine basin (1.0 mile 11,243’). About a mile in, we will reach the Broome Hut. We will continue on the trail to the Continental Divide to reach South Twin Cones.   High point is 12051 feet

  We will meet at Wooly Mammoth Park and Ride, section BB, across from the Exxon gas station, at 7 : 00 am so we can form carpools for the drive to the trailhead   .
