Bike – Cherry Creek North to the Highline Canal

Join Jan Brady on a relaxing LIT ride (on cement, blacktop, and pea gravel paths) from the west side of Cherry Creek State Park where it connects with the Cherry Creek Trail. We'll ride northwest and merge onto the Highline Canal Trail, then gradually meander southwest to Orchard Road. From there we'll ride east to our starting point. Along the way, we'll ride through Bible and Eisenhower Parks and see an amazing fallen tree sculpture, along with beautiful views of the mountains from the westernmost section of the route. That particular section weaves through lovely residential areas and open spaces. There is 6.5 miles of pea gravel which can easily be ridden on a road bike. A link to the route is provided below.

Jan will preview it a day or two before. Should it be too muddy, she'll adjust the route accordingly so we're riding on paved paths. We'll probably stop at least once for a snack break. There are restrooms at our starting point and at Eisenhower Park. Should the group be interested, we can gather afterwards at Village Greens Park to eat lunch and get acquainted.

Village Greens Park, 9501 E Union Ave, Greenwood Village, CO 80111. Meet in the first parking lot on the left. Please arrive by 9:30 AM and be ready to ride by 9:45 AM
