BPX Trip – 4-Day: Sugarite Canyon State Park Campground
Sugarite Canyon State Park is a state park of New Mexico. It features a historic early-20th century coal-mining camp and natural scenery at the border of the Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains. The park is located on the Colorado–New Mexico state line 6 miles (9.7 km) northeast of Raton, New Mexico.

This will be communicated/discussed with participants closer to the trip date. There may be multiple carpool locations depending on participant location.
Trip will be the same as listed in the official Route/Place. There are many activities in this area including fishing, paddling, hiking, visiting downtown areas, etc.
As noted in the Route/Place we will be camping near the Colorado/New Mexico border. There are 3 state parks within about 20 minutes of each other in both Colorado and New Mexico. We will camp in NM and visit the other 2 state parks in CO.
On Saturday we will lead a day hike to the summit of Fishers Peak. This is a well-known peak to which a trail was just recently built. More information is available at the link below.
