This is a fun campground camping trip to the Marble area, outside the western boundary of the Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness. Please read the full Route & Place info (linked under the Route section) for more info on the options in this area.

Please no guests; participants must be CMC members.

The leader for this trip is planning to do the Crystal Mill hike on Saturday July 15. This is a 9 mile out and back with 1300 feet of gain on a 4WD road that sees ample foot and OHV traffic in summer, as people make their way to visit the famed and historic Crystal Mill. Bring cash to access the mill site and get some amazing photos. The day hike is optional for campers.

There is a fee to join the trip (camping fees will be split among participants; $10 a person); leader will arrange payment options after sign-ups. There is also an option to stay a third night on July 16 (ask leader for details if you're interested).

Meet at 8 am on Friday July 14 at the Mammoth Park n Ride in Golden. Summer Fridays on I-70 can be rough, so we're hitting the road early to beat traffic. We can stop at the road-side Penny Hot Springs (free) and get lunch before heading to the campground.

We need to consolidate cars and carpool, as vehicle space at camp is limited. We have one reserved site that allows up to 10 people, but I am capping the trip at 7 to make tent arrangements manageable. Please plan to bring smaller tents.

More info will be provided to campers 1 month before the trip.
