Climb – Large Classroom / Climbing Wall West
Winter Tech Seminar Series #2: Rope and monolithic anchors. This series is a collaborative space where we can discuss and practice specific skills that have been introduced in various CMC classes. Session 2 will discuss how to use your rope to create or suppliment anchors in both monolithic and gear scenarios. Being able to use your rope to help build anchors will allow you to be more efficient in building anchors and choose safer belay stances while climbing.

While this is open to all with a climbing background, participants who climb multi-pitch routes, climb in areas without developed anchors, or are interested in learning more about rope and rescue systems will benefit the most from attending.
We will spend time discussing what situations may require using the rope as an anchor, how to spot and use monolithic anchors, and how to use the rope to set safe and ergonomic belay stances. Discuss and practice setting up some anchors and how to use rope anchors while in "grey area terrain" to help keep your party safe and moving fast.
This seminar will occur at the CMC Base Camp climbing wall from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on January 27th.
