While this is open to all with a climbing background, participants who climb multi-pitch routes, climb in areas where belaying from the top is common, or are interested in learning more about rope and rescue systems will benefit the most from attending.
This seminar will focus on techniques to set up efficient belay stations in both Sport and Trad climbing. By focusing on where your follower is coming from, and where the next pitch goes a leader can set up belay stations that are both comfortable and safe. We will discuss using the terrain to your benefit, benefits of block leading vs swinging leads, keeping your climber in site, and manage rope at stances.
This seminar will occur from 6:00 to 9:00 at the CMC Base Camp on Feb 26th.
