Participants should have completed a Basic Ice Climbing course. Those who have taken a climbing anchors course and/or intermediate Ice climbing are encouraged to sign up. I may increase the trip roster cap if we have a handful of people who know how to set up routes in ice parks.
Participants are on their own for lodging. I'm happy to put the folks on the trip in touch if you wish to coordinate and book a large rental.
This trip may be canceled or amended if Ouray Ice Park conditions deteriorate in this unusually warm and dry winter. That decision will be made by Sunday 2/22. Right now things look good!
Meet at Ouray Ice Park Entrance on February 28th and March 1st at 8am. Those are on the trip that are Ice park Members will enter at 7:30 to set up anchors for routes.
Plan to arrive Friday afternoon evening on 2/27 especially if you are borrowing gear. A short meet up Friday night may be arranged if enough folks plan to arrive before 7pm. It would be great to get crampons fitted indoors that night rather than in the morning in the cold.
