Wear your own waterproof boots and tall gaiters. If you prefer, bring your own kit (snowshoes and ski/hiking poles with snow baskets). Or borrow ours for the day.
Dress in layers for the day's weather, possible wind, and rolling in the snow. Lunch, high energy snacks, and at least a 1-1/2 liters water. You may be cold at the TH, but five minutes of snowshoeing will warm you right up.
If you have questions about this, please send them to the trip leader or cmcbeginnerss@gmail.com.
Your Instructor will notify you the week before Trip Day about the Trip Venue, Meet Time and Meet Place. Every Instructor has a favorite location, but the choice also will depend on where the snow is.
Default is to meet at the CMC Base Camp 15605 W 32nd Ave, Golden, CO 80401 at 7:00 am. Park facing W 32nd Ave. There are port-a-potties available at Base Camp, back behind the building.
Required Equipment
Come dressed for a day in the snow (and possible wind), and bring your ten essentials including a water and lunch or hardy snacks.
The snowshoe kit does not include boots, because any water resistant boots will work. Wear your own waterproof/winter hiking boots and high gaiters.
If you have questions about this, please send them to the trip leader or cmcbeginnerss@gmail.com.
