The GPS coordinates of the parking lot are N40° 03' 49.0" W106° 11' 10.0"

There are two routes to get to Parshall.

1) Take I-70W. Get off on Hwy 40 towards Winter Park. Go over Berthoud Pass, drive through Winter Park, Granby and Sulphur Springs.

Parshall is the next town down the road. When you pass Parshall, after 2 miles you will see a parking lot on the left side of the road.

That is our meeting place on Hwy 40.

2) Take I-70W to Dillon. Get off on Hwy 9 North. Pass Green Mountain Reservoir.

When you get to Kremmling, take Hwy 40 towards Sulphur Springs/Winter Park. The parking lot is on the right side of the road 2 miles before the town of Parshall on Hwy 40.

Driving distance from HWY 285 and C-470 via Hwy 9 is 110 miles (each way)

  • Fishing license is required.
  • FF School or equivalent experience is required for this trip.
  • Recommended gear will be sent to all participants.
  • No pets are allowed.
  • No guests are allowed.
  • It is a good idea to bring a day pack to carry your gear. If you need assistance with this matter, please contact the trip leader.
  • Bring your lunch and enough water for a full day in the outdoors.
  • Bring warm beverages if you wish. Weather can be cold this early in the season.
  • Depending on the weather and fishing conditions we will be fishing until 4-5 PM.
  • Depending on flow conditions, we may wade the Colorado river and hike directly to the Williams Fork to fish the Fork only. This hike will take half hour to the stream. From there, we will be walking/wading/fishing up and down the stream until we decide to turn back to the cars.

SPECIAL NOTE: this trip is not very physically demanding but you will have to be able to wade safely, carry your backpack and hike in full gear.

If we cross the Colorado river to fish the Fork, you will not be allowed to hike back and wade the Colorado river on your own. You will have to stay with the group until the whole group turns around.

This trip will take place if weather conditions are safe for the whole group. If water flows are too high and unsafe to wade, we will fish the Colorado river instead.
