The hike begins at the Seven Utes Mountain trailhead on the west side of Cameron Pass, near the town of Gould. On either side of the yurt, follow the trail to the bridge that crosses Michigan River and continue up an old logging road for about a mile to the actual trail.  Continue on the trail up the drainage to a ridge between 7 Utes Mountain and Mount Mahler. Continue west up the trail to the summit. We will have a break on the summit and enjoy the fantastic views of the Never Summer Range. After our break we will hike back to the ridge and continue to point 11,188 and enjoy the views of Lake Agnes, Mount Mahler and The Crags. We will then continue down the social trail and loop back to the 7 Utes Mountain trail and return to the trailhead.

I you have any questions about the hike, please feel free to email me at trout.bill@gmail.com

We will meet at Pringles parking lot, northwest corner Taft & Drake in Fort Collins. We will meet at 6:50am and leave promptly at 7am. Ride share will be $15

Note: The drive to the trailhead from Fort Collins is about 2-2.5 hours.

Required Equipment

You should plan for chilly weather. So bring layers including wind gear. There are some easy water crossings, so waterproof boots and perhaps extra socks may come in handy. I would also recommend hat and gloves. Trekking poles will be handy. Water sources could be dry, so bring 1-2 liters of water. Also, don't forget lunch. And per hiking etiquette, your 10 essentials.
