Argentine Peak Loop West 13,738’ . From the trailhead at Shoe Basin mine, hike up to Argentine Pass, scramble up the ridge to Argentine Peak, hike down the Continental Divide, and glissade (optional) down to rejoin the trail.

From the trailhead at Shoe Basin mine, hike up to Argentine Pass and scramble up the ridge to Argentine Peak.  We’ll follow the Continental Divide towards Decatur Mountain, and have a great glissade (optional) down from the saddle to rejoin the trail.  We may need to cross steep snowfields. Ice axe and related skills are recommended for optional glissade

Each participant is expected to carry all 10+ Essentials.

I like to keep the whole group within yelling distance pretty much all the time, so if you are a free-spirited wanderer, this may not be the trip for you.
