  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,800 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 13,856 ft
  • Pace: 1-1.5 mph. Faster on trail, slower on off-trail steep areas

Expect this to be an all-day hike, and don't plan important events for the late afternoon or dinner.  Please note the hiking speed - it's for real.

We will walk up the Mayflower Gulch trail, and then follow the hike as described on 14ers.com.  You can find the information here.  Note that the mileage given by 14ers.com doesn't include the hike up Mayflower Gulch (but there is still a difference between the expected value and that provided by CMC).

Meet at the Wooly Mammoth section BB at 5:30 am for a 5:45 am departure.   Wooly Mammoth is located at 18560 US-40, Golden, CO 80401  I will have someone form carpools, and I will meet you at the Mayflower Gulch trail parking area off of CO 91 between 7 and 7:15 am, which allows for a 15 min rest stop along the way.
