You will need to sign up for this trip on the CMC web and also need to make reservations at Barr Camp. Most folks stay in the dormitory type sleeping area. They also have outdoor Lean2's. A pancake breakfast comes with your reservation and a supper of Spaghetti / bread is $20 per meal which if you want, will need to also reserve. It is good. If you want to bring your own food for meals, you'll need a stove, pot and utensils. We will share a water filter.
There is no heat in the sleeping area but usually about a 30F bag is sufficient. Here's the Barrcamp.com link to sign up and learn more about Barr Camp.
Leader will be vetting participants for winter hiking experience.
We will meet at 9am Fri at the Safeway on 3275 W. Colorado Ave https://maps.app.goo.gl/qwmntWngKkLqcMsBA ready to leave at 9:15. Will carpool to the Barr TH. Parking at the TH is $17.50/day M-F and $35 S&S per car to be shared by participants.
Required Equipment
Bring your 10 essentials. If you have any medical conditions, i.e. asthma, etc that the leader may need to know about please send me an email. Will need to dress for the weather conditions, layers a must, weather forecast will be sent prior to the trip but it is only a forecast. If you are thinking about a summit, goggles and maybe warmer gloves. Suggest hiking poles, micro-spikes as the trail will probably be icy, winter boots, gloves, sleeping bag and possibly snowshoes. Snacks for Fri, Sat and Sunday morning. And a lunch for Fri and Sat.
