Hiking – Boulder Open Space - S. Boulder and Bear Peaks

Participate in this extremely difficult Boulder Skyline Traverse! Winter weather and snow-packed/icy trail conditions will challenge the hardiest individuals.

Prepare for a fast, full day as we begin for an early morning start. We'll ascend the summits in this order: Mount Sanitas, Flagstaff Mountain, Green Mountain, Bear Peak, and S. Boulder Peak. We will reduce our pace to ~1 mph on the steep ascents and quicken our pace on the multiple trail descents.

6:00am: Meet at Colorado Mountain Club, 15605 W. 32nd Avenue, Golden, CO 80401        6:15am: Form carpools and depart for the Chautauqua Park trailhead, 900 Baseline Road and 9th Street, Boulder, CO 80302 We shall ascend the summits in the following order: Mount Sanitas, Mount Flagstaff, Green Mountain, Bear Peak, and S. Boulder Peak, based on group conditioning and cohesiveness.

I recommend keeping pack weight between 7.0 - 10 pounds so as to make for a fast traverse. Trekking poles and traction control devices are recommended for snow packed and icy trail conditions.
