We will travel counterclockwise on the Button Rock Mountain Loop. Note that we will not be going to the "Button Rock," which is one drainage away; nor will we be going to the Button Rock Reservoir. But we will have great views from a promontory on the south side of the mountain.
The trail starts as a Forest Service road. The first mile is the steepest part. Note that portions of this trail include steep descents on sometimes loose rock; if you have balance issues, this trip may not be for you. Mountain bikers also use this area, and we will plan to yield to them.

I anticipate a return to the Park and Ride in the early to mid afternoon.
The main meeting place will be the RTD surface parking lot at 88th and Sheridan in Westminster at 7:15 am, with a planned departure at 7:30 am.
NOTE: this is not the main parking structure on the northeast side of US 36; rather, it is an uncovered lot on the southwest side of the highway. Here are directions to the Park and Ride if you need it: https://maps.app.goo.gl/tK1B57yi17zqtrJT9
We will carpool north on U.S. 36 just past Pinewood Springs and turn left on County Road 47. The parking area is at the intersection with Forest Service Road 118.1, on the left after about 2.5 miles. Other than the parking area, the entire route is paved. Here is the trailhead location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Qu9GHD6j638NmNSU6
