This is the Western Slope Group's 1st spring camping trip. During this trip we will camp and explore Capital Reef National Park. The Group Campsite within Capital Reef National Park has been reserved for t his trip Thursday thru Sunday (3 nights). You must register with the trip leader. Note, only Western Slope Group members will be able to register thru November 6, 2024.

Bring your own camping gear and food. The group will split the nightly camping fee of $125. per night. The campground has tent sites, restrooms, shelters, picnic tables and drinking water. Parking at the camp site is limited to 10 vehicles.

If you plan to camp in a large trailer or RV, you will need to make reservations at the Fruita Campground. Loop C is recommended as it is closest to the group site. Individual sites become available 6 months in advance and usually are reserved within minutes of becoming available on recreation.gov.

Note: Scenic Drive is planned to be closed for rehabilitation from April to October 2024.  The Chimney Rock parking lot could be closed in April, 2024.
