Hiking – Carpenter Peak - Hike with a Naturalist.

We'll hike at a brisk pace but make several stops for insights into geology & archeology from your Naturalist Leader.  We will start on the patio at the Visitor Center (restrooms) then take the Willow Creek Trail to Carpenter Peak Trail. We'll take a break on Carpenter Peak (7,169’) to enjoy the panoramic views then return via the Power Line and Elk Valley trails.

Meet at the Safeway at Roxborough Village @ 7:15am for 7:20am departure. We will arrange carpools for the short drive into Roxborough State Park from here. A State Park Pass is required for each car. If we don't have enough cars with passes then the $10 fee will be split between riders.

We will re-group at Roxborough State Park Vistor Center on patio at 7:45am. (Restrooms here) 

From C-470 and South Wadsworth Blvd, drive south on Wadsworth Blvd for approximately 4.3 miles to the junction of Waterton Road.  Turn left on Waterton Road and follow it another 1.5 miles to the intersection of N. Rampart Range Rd.  Turn right on Rampart Range Rd at the stop light.  The Safeway store is located on your right. Directions from the Safeway to Roxborough State Park Continue south on Rampart Range Road for 2 miles. Turn left at the sign to the Park, then immediately right after the Fire Station and follow the signs up to the parking lot. Walk up to the Visitor Center (rest rooms here).
