Hiking – Dawson Butte Open Space

 Let's meet at 9:30 am at the trailhead off of Tomah Road and hike or snowshoe the Dawson Butte Trail with the option of doing the Stairway to Heaven Path.  We'll hike or snowshoe through forest areas and open meadows.

***This hike may become a snowshoe trip if we ever have enough snow.***

Please bring your 10 essentials with ample food, at least 1-2 liters of water, ice walkers/microspikes, and warm layers.

Driving directions from Colorado Springs:  Take I-25 north from Colorado Springs to exit 174 toward Tomah Road in Douglas County. Turn left onto Frontage Road/Sky View Lane, crossing under I-25.  After 450 feet turn right/north onto I-25 Frontage Road.  After 2.1 miles turn left onto Tomah Road.  After 1.6 miles turn right onto the Dawson Butte Ranch Open Space parking lot.

Driving directions from Denver: Take I-25 south from Denver to exit 174.  Go south on the exit ramp to Sky View Lane/I-25 Frontage Road. Turn right and then another immediate right north onto the I-25 Frontage Road from Sky View Lane. After 2.1 miles turn left onto Tomah Road.  After 1.6 miles turn right onto the Dawson Butte Ranch Open Space parking lot.
