DOGGIE HIKE: Dogs welcome but not required. We will start outside the park and hike the 4 mile Fowler trail. To register for this hike you have to pay a $5 non refundable fee. Note, about 1/2 of this hike is on a service road, 1/2 in the woods.

This is an easy hike “in and out” hike with outstanding scenery. We will start with gradual incline on a service road for about 1/2 mile. The road flattens and narrows for another 1/2m, merging onto a rolling trail in the woods for about a mile, arriving at the “in-park” trailhead with toilets. We reverse and walk the trail back to cars.

Note: this reverses the route that is in All Trails

Dogs must be on a 6ft leash and under your control at all times. Please read CMC rules for dogs https://cmcdenver.org/groupresources/denver-group-dog-hikes-policy

We will meet to arrange carpools at the park n ride across from the Phillips 66 at 16283 Morrison Road at 8:00 for 8:10 departure. There is no toilet at the trailhead (or park n ride), but there is one about 2 miles in on the trail.

We will be going to the trailhead outside the park on Rt. 67, off Eldorado Springs Drive. Please let me know if you plan to meet us there, and plan to meet us at 8:40.

Please plan to bring your car registration with you if you have the Keep Colorado Wild pass, as this will act as the State Park “walk in pass” for up to five hikers.

10 essentials. Bug repellent and rain gear might be helpful, as conditions change quickly. Sun protection is essential as about 1/2 of the trail is exposed. There are a couple rocky, gravelly areas, so poles might be useful if you use them.
