This is a wildflower hike for wildflower enthusiasts. We will be making frequent stops to inspect various wildflowers.
Plan on a picnic snack break at the summit of Elephant Butte, which offers beautiful views. The trail up to the summit is quite bouldery. We will help each other with the ascent and descent over a couple boulder sections.

The Fort, 19192 Highway 8, off 285. Meet at 7:20 for 7:30 prompt departure. Look for Carroll’s blue Subaru Outback.
The 14 mile drive to the East parking lot takes about 30 minutes. Shared cost per vehicle is ~$9.50.
