Hiking – Green Mountain
This will be 5 miles, out-and-back, from the Rooney Road trailhead (alongside C-470) to the large communications tower on the eastern slope of Green Mountain. We'll touch the summit where we can enjoy great views of the Front Range, Denver Metro, and Rooney Valley.

We'll be hiking up from the Ronney Road parking area, on the west side of the mountain, starting up a steep grade heading east. Once we reach the summit we can break for snacks, views, photos, and a rest. We'll then continue east to the large communications tower that sports various vertical, colinear, and rototiller arrays.

Let's meet at the Rooney Road trailhead and parking area at 7 am to beat the heat and to ensure parking spots. Plan on heading up the trail by 07:15 am. The parking area's address is 1000 South Rooney Road:

Required Equipment
Weather might be hot so bring plenty of water (at least one litre, at a minimum) and sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, etc.). (I'm entering this trip 11 days in advance and have no idea what the weather will be - bring layers/rain gear if needed!)
Snacks for the summit make for a pleasant stop!
