***NO HARES PLEASE***

Let's meet at the Spruce Mountain Open Space Trailhead off of Spruce Mountain Road South at 9:30 am.  We'll hike up Spruce Mountain via the Oak Shortcut to the Pine Junction Overlook and then to the Upper Loop Trail.  We'll circle around and head down via the Service Road to the north.  If the group is in agreement, we can lengthen this hike and head southwest via the Eagle Ridge Trail to the Gravesite Spur near Hwy. 105.  We'll return to our trailhead via the Eagle Ridge and Eagle Pass Trails.  This hike will be approximately 7 miles in length.

***If the group would rather go on a shorter hike  (5.0 miles), we can  take the Oak Shortcut to Pine Junction and the Upper Loop, returning via the Service Road and Eagle Pass Trail.

Please bring your ten essentials, including ample water, food, and warm layers.  You will also need leg gaiters and ice walkers/micro-spikes.  If we receive heavy snow in the interim this hike may become a snowshoe trip.  Snowshoes will then be required.

If anyone needs to carpool, please contact me at 7196357720 or at sheindk@yahoo.com ahead of the scheduled trip.  I can meet you at the Woodmen Park 'n' Ride (Woodmen west of I-25) at 8:45 am.

Driving Directions: From I-25, go west from Greenland Exit 167. Go west under the highway and follow the road south and west (Noe Road), continuing right on the main gravel/dirt road over two sets of railroad tracks.  Turn left or south at the stop sign onto Spruce Mountain Road South for a little over a mile.  The trailhead parking lot is on your right hand side (west) of the road.
