The Colorado Trail is near the campground. Three (4 to 5 mile) hikes will be offered during the trip. While they are easy hikes, the higher elevation (10k+) may make them more moderate. Two hikes can be accessed from the campsite, and the third circles the lake.
There are vault toilets and a water pump at the campground.
Firewood is usually available from the camp hosts, when fires are permitted.
Dogs are welcome at the campground and on all hikes. They must be leashed and under your control at all times.
We will meet at the Twin Forks Park n Ride (6164 US Highway 285) at 12:15 for a 12:30 departure. We will be camping at the Jefferson Creek Campground (sites 08 and 10) in the Jefferson Lake Recreation Area, which is about 8 miles south of Kenosha Pass.
We must leave the campsite by 12:00 on Wednesday. However, we may pack up earlier and go to the lake for a final hike.
Costs include: $8 per person for the campsite, $11 per car entrance fee to the recreation area, $34 per car for mileage.
