Lair o' the Bear Park

Trip

Hiking – Lair o' the Bear Park

Let's see what Spring brings to Lair, the park with the most deciduous trees! Even the cottonwoods are finally showing off baby leaves! We'll walk east on dirt trails (A tad uneven so wear hikers!) ALONG the creek, to Denver's Little Park, and back, and a gentle, slow hike UP Bruin's Bluff (266 ft elev gain!), with gentle rolling hills at top. Then back down and head west to Creekside Loop along the creek (About 3.2 mi at this point.). You can end there or go on west with us past the historic stone castle to ponds at end of trail and back for about 5-6 easy, flat miles (except gentle UP on Bruin's Bluff). RELAXED pace. We'll often briefy pause to appreciate the beauty (Lair offers varied and lovely terrain!). Bring WATER, a simple first aid kit, snack. This is an easy hike (including the gentle, maybe "moderate" UP on Bruin!) but you need WATER, that simple first aid kit, and a snack! Look for email from me night before (Sun evening, May 11) for last minute info including weather, and any changes!
