If there is significant snow on the ground requiring snowshoes our trip destination will be Hankins Pass reducing our trip to about 8 miles round trip and 1800 ft. elevation gain.  We will assess at Hankins pass the time, our stamina and whether we turn around at this point.  Our turn around will be between 12:30 and 1:00 P.M.

Significant portions of this trail are in the shade of the mountain.  Please dress appropriately for cold temperatures in the shade, bringing hand warmers,  etc. Much of the trail will be in the sun especially the Lizard Rock trail.

Meet at The Fort pull out  near Morrison (19192 CO-8, Morrison, CO 80465) at 7:00 A.M.

We travel south on 285 to Jefferson and turn on CO 77 ( Terryall Road).  The Spruce Grove Trail Head is 28 miles from Jefferson and takes about 40 minutes from Jefferson.  Total mileage is 156 miles round trip from The Fort and takes about 1.45 hours in travel time.
