Hiking – No Thoroughfare Canyon
This can be a challenging hike for route finding and down climbing, especially through the waterfalls area.

We will meet at the Devils Kitchen picnic/parking lot, in the monument, at 0730 Park pass required to enter CO monument. We will leave some vehicles, then carpool to upper TH off Little Park Rd, out of the monument, to start the descent. 8.1-9 miles have been reported from top to bottom, and initial route is moderate.
Even though trail is mostly moderate, the challenging part of the trail still needs to be negotiated in order to complete the hike! Know your limitations.
The difficulty in terrain and route finding happens when down climbing the upper and lower waterfalls. This is rocky with cliff exposure, up and down climbing, slick rock and soft, dirt surfaces with potential of sliding. Poles are beneficial but may need to be stored for 3 & 4 point scrambling. Route finding and bushwhacking off trail will happen.
Required Equipment
10 essentials, weather and terrain appropriate gear. Poles important on steep grades. Pants preferred as there are areas of cactus, burr bushes, grippy hiking boots and grippy gloves very helpful especially on rock surfaces and Up and Down climbing.
