The Cheyenne Mtn Club was the predecessor to PPG. Let’s take a trip back to the site of their cabin overlooking South Cheyenne Creek.

We will meet at the Upper Gold Camp P/Lot above Helen Hunt Falls at 7:45 a.m. and be ready to leave at 8 to hike to the site where Cheyenne Mtn H.S., who formed Cheyenne Mtn Club, had a cabin for their campouts.  We will hike passed the collapsed Short Line RR tunnel No. 3 and along the abandoned Gold Camp Rd.  The Cheyenne Mtn Club joined the Colorado Mtn Club (CMC) on May 6, 1919 thus forming the Pikes Peak Branch and the second club in CMC.
