The Fort Collins group will meet at JJ's at the NW corner of Taft Hill Rd. and Harmony at 6:00 AM. The ride share from Fort Collins is 15.00. Everyone else can meet at the Wild Basin TH at 7:30. Be ready and geared up by 7:40. It is on a 2 mile dirt road from the Ranger Pay Station off of the Peak to Peak Hwy. (HWY.7). Please try to carpool. The parking lot is not very large. I will send emails of participants if you would like.

No technical skills required.

From the Wild Basin TH we will follow the Thunder Lake Trail for 3.4 miles to the junction with the Bluebird Lake Trail. We will stop at Ouzel Falls on the way at 2.7 miles. At the Bluebird Lake TH we will travel 1.2 miles to the junction with the Ouzel Lake TH. During the 1.2 mile stretch we will see the remains of the 1978 Ouzel fire. The 0.4 trail to Ouzel Lake is boggy, but easy to navigate around. We may even see a moose along there! There are several suitable picnic spots along the boulders that are just above the lake with a great view of MT. Copeland.
