This will be a moderately paced loop hike beginning at the Palmer Lake Reservoir Trailhead. We'll climb to Palmer Lake Reservoir before connecting into Limbaugh Canyon, traveling through a diverse landscape of pine-covered hillsides, rocky canyon terrain, and scenic mountain foothills. The route is approximately 7 miles with 1,400 feet of elevation gain, making it a solid moderate hike with a steady climb early in the outing and rolling terrain throughout the remainder of the loop. Expect rocky and uneven trail surfaces, occasional steeper sections, and beautiful views of the surrounding Palmer Divide. Participants should be comfortable hiking at elevation and prepared with adequate water, sun protection, and layers for changing mountain weather conditions. Trekking poles may be helpful on rocky or descending sections.

For those who are interested, we will find a place to grab lunch after the hike.

We will meet at the Palmer Lake Reservoir trailhead for a 9am start. Parking fee at the trailhead is $5.  Free parking is available at the elementary school about .3 miles from the trailhead.
