Trip
Hiking – Pikes Peak - Barr Trail - Fremont Experimental Forest
A hike to find some rare, deciduous and non-native Larch trees and see if their needles have changed color yet this fall. We will alsocheck out the ruins of the experimental forest service station. If we’re feeling ambitious, we will take a cool side trail partway down and then go up towards Rocky Mountain to find the remains of an old tourist observation platform.

Optional meet up to carpool at the west side Safeway, 3275 W. Colorado Ave. by 7:35 a.m.. Or meet at Barr Trail trailhead by 7:50 for an 8 a.m. start.
