RMOTHG Trip – Abyss Lake Trail
This is an out-and-back 6.5 mile / 720 ft elev-gain route that starts at the Abyss Lake Trailhead off Guanella Pass. We'll likely microspike up to the 1st bridge over Scott Gomer Creek @ 2.25 miles – where we'll enjoy stunning views of Bierstadt's south ridge. From here snowshoes may be needed to reach the 2nd bridge @ 3.25 miles - going through “Moose Meadow” (ok yeah I made that up:) Pace will be a steady & brisk 1.5 – 2 mph with minimal stops. Est time to complete: 5 hours.

Highly Recommended: Face Mask, Balaclava or Neck Gaiter. Ski Goggles, Chemical Hand/Foot Warmers, Thermos with hot drink.
