RMOTHG Trip – Glacier Peak via Georgia Pass

This 6 mile / 1500 ft elevation-gain hike to Glacier Peak starts from the top of Georgia Pass (11,598'). Considered relatively mellow, this all-above-treeline route includes sections of 4wd road, the Colorado Trail, and off-trail tundra hiking. We'll experience an abundance of wildflowers and spectacular views in all directions. Anticipated time to complete: 3 hours.

Comfort Stop On The Way:   Bailey Loaf 'N Jug - at the traffic light and intersection of 285 and 43 (before the top of Crow Hill).

Apres-Hike Refreshments / Lunch:  Crossroads Pub & Grill at traffic light in Pine Junction (http://crossroadspubgrill.com/menu.html ).  Arrange carpools based on who wants to do lunch stop on way back - or not.

Meeting Place for Carpooling:   Morrison PnR (3485 S. Rooney Rd, Morrison, CO) From the Morrison Rd / CO 8 exit of 470 go west towards Morrison. Take immediate right on South Rooney Rd. A good rule of thumb when considering what to pack (especially for hiking above treeline):  Bring what you would need to stay warm & dry if you sprained your ankle or twisted your knee up above treeline in a cold rain or hail storm and wouldn't be able to get down for several hours.
