RMOTHG Trip – Mount Falcon - West TH

This is a scenic and enjoyable hike to the “Summer White House” starting from the West Trailhead of Mount Falcon Park in Indian Hills. At 4 mrt and 538 feet of elevation gain we will snowshoe or spike-hike a loop that includes the Castle Trail, Meadow Trail and Walker's Dream Trail. We'll do an enjoyable “Casual Plus” Pace where we can easily chat with one another along the way but also Move Steadily.

  • Please bring your “Personal Information Form” to keep handy in your pack. This will help me (and any other medical professionals) to help You in the event of an emergency.
  • Also, let me know if there are any medical issues or conditions you may have prior to the trip. This information is confidential (only for Trip Leaders and any medical professionals that might be involved in helping you).
  • Although rated “Easy” it's always good to be in decent physical condition to enjoy it fully :)

We will meet at 9 am at the Mount Falcon West Trailhead : 21074 Mount Falcon Road / Indian Hills. Please be packed up and ready to get movin' after some brief introductions. There are restrooms about 100 yards from the trailhead. The full hike is guesstimated to be approximately 3 hours, including breaks.

  • Ski Poles are recommended as they are great for balance and helping to prevent falls. They can also be helpful for fending off bears, mountain lions and BigFoot:)

  • As icy patches / stretches are common in Winter, microspikes are mandatory.

  • The leader will contact everyone the day before the trip with weather and trail conditions. This will determine whether snowshoes are needed or just microspikes.
