This is a 7.5 miles / 2000 ft elevation-gain hike to a pristine alpine lake in a georgeous high mountain cirque. Expect plenty of vibrant wildflowers, 6 stream crossings and steep, rocky & muddy trail sections, It has been described as moderately challenging – although many reviewers have also described it as "hard." Our destination will reward our efforts:)

Please Assess your physical / aerobic condition for climbing 2000 ft in 3.75 miles at high altitude while maintaining a steady, moderate pace.

Comfort Stop On The Way:   Bailey Loaf 'N Jug - at the traffic light and intersection of 285 and 43 (before the top of Crow Hill).

Meeting Place for Carpooling:   Morrison PnR (3485 S. Rooney Rd, Morrison, CO) From the Morrison Rd / CO 8 exit of 470 go west towards Morrison. Take immediate right on South Rooney Rd. A good rule of thumb when considering what to pack (especially for hiking above treeline): Bring what you would need to stay warm & dry if you sprained your ankle or twisted your knee up above treeline in a cold rain or hail storm and wouldn't be able to get down for several hours.
