Must have: CMC's “Intermediate Rock Climbing Badge” or higher.
Must have basic knowledge of, at least, Safe top-rope belay skills; and, (not necessary, but always appreciated) leading/cleaning/advance rock skills, are always welcomed. Come out and climb as hard or as easy as you like (or whatever we can find to climb that’s available). Most climbs in this canyon are locally considered as: clean by rappel; however, there are now some mussy hooks available (thanks to the tireless efforts of our local PPCA); and we will honor whatever you feel safest using, if needed.
Meet at the (climber's) parking lot, North of the park -- this is the farthest East parking lot that you can access from Ridge Rd off Hwy 24 at 4:30pm*. This is precipitation-weather dependent, and subject to be cancelled or moved depending on weather... But, if sun is out and rock is dry, it'll probably go. We will hike in together and choose an area that is hopefully free from crowds and interests of the group.
*It's okay to meet us at the crag; please let the leader know if you will be later than 4:30pm, and we'll share where we will be at.
Required Equipment
Must Bring your Personal Climbing Gear (harness, helmet, climbing shoes, and PAS system).
Bring a headlamp, because we will probably climb until dusk and hike out after...
If you have a rope, quickdraws, anchor, please bring them, and we will figure out what we will hike in (depending on the group size).
Snacks and water, 10 essentials, etc.
