The meetup time and place will be emailed to participants a few days before the trip.  Expect to meet in south Fort Collins about 7 am or the Lumpy Ridge trailhead about 8 am.

The Gemstones are a trio of granite peaks in Lumpy Ridge at an elevation of ~9000 feet that can be reached by going off-trail from scenic and unusual Gem Lake.  The highest is West Gemstone, also known as Gem Peak, which is not visible from Gem Lake nor easily accessible.

Starting at the Lumpy Ridge TH in Estes Park, we'll have ~1.7 mile approach to the lake and then move onto the rocks.  A variety of routes and scrambling difficulty can found, for this trip we will focus on Class 3 terrain with mostly mild and some moderate exposure.  We will attempt to climb all three Gemstones before bushwhacking back to the main trail.
