Summit 2026 – Wetterhorn and Uncompahgre Peaks

All participants and leaders are REQUIRED to sign the State of Colorado's liability waiver. Please click here to fill out the waiver.

Participants will register for their preferred 14er through the Colorado Mountain Club website, where they will be placed on a waitlist for their chosen peak (you may join more than one waitlist). From there, trip leaders will reach out to gather more information about each participant's experience level and interests. For trips where the waitlist exceeds the allotted group size, participants will be selected by lottery.

Participants may choose to camp at Silver Jack Reservoir in the established campground or camp at large on the surrounding forest service lands. 

We'll meet at the Middle Fork trailhead (#227) at the end of the FS road 861.1 at 5:30am. From Silver Jack Reservoir, continue east on the main Cimarron road for about 1 mile. Turn right across a bridge, then make and immediate left onto FR 861.1 (Middle Fork Road). If you miss that turn, the road will start climbing toward Owl Creek Pass. Follow FR 861.1 for ~4.6mi to its end at the Middle Fork trailhead. This is a rough road, but passable by most medium clearance passenger cars that can handle loose rock, washboarded roads and shallow drainage crossings (~30min drive from Silver Jack).
