A 14'er in the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness between the Towns of Westcliffe and Crestone.

This 14'er is 14299' high and approachable from the east (USFS San Carlos Ranger District or the west (USFS Saguache Ranger District).

From the Cottonwood Creek TH, follow the Cottonwood Creek trail/FR 861  Often done as overnight camp at Colony Lakes. 4wd if drive to upper trailhead on rough road. Mileage and gain greater if start at lower 2wd trailhead. 13 miles, 5800' gain - Class 3.

From South Colony Lakes Trailhead, or if your vehicle can follow the road, the South Colony Spur Trailhead, follow the South Colony Trail to the South Colony Lakes - 14 miles, 5700' gain - Class 3
