Cronin Peak
A Centennial 13'er located in the heart of the Sawatch Range near Mt Antero
This peak features a class 2 summit, accessible from its east-south-east ridge. The hike consists of a long portion of 4wd road, FR278, which is also the road up Mt. Antero, then some off trail. If you have a shorter-bed, higher clearance 4WD vehicle, you can shave off some mileage along FR278. The off-trail starts at roughly 12,700 feet. From there it is off-trail, first through sparse forest then through meadows and talus up to the summit. You are rewarded with stunning 360 degree views of the Sawatch range.
