Kit Carson and Challenger Point

Kit Carson Peak (14,171') is a high mountain summit of the Crestones in the Sangre de Cristo Range. The name Kit Carson is used for both the massif with three summits (Columbia Point, Kit Carson Peak, and Challenger Point), or to describe the main summit only.  

Willow Creek Trailhead is the start and the Willow Lake Trail (#865) is the route.  Often done as overnight with camp at Willow Lake at the end of the trail, before the off-trail climb. There is a nice waterfall at the lake.

Alternate Titles reflect start points along the trail up from the TH.
