Missouri Mountain

One of Colorado's 14'ers, near Aspen and Leadville.

Missouri Mountain (14,071') is a high mountain summit in the Collegiate Peaks of the Sawatch Range, near  the Town of Buena Vista in Chaffee County. Missouri Mountain is separated from its eastern neighbor Mount Belford by Elkhead Pass (13,220').  For information about routes, maps, gpx tracks, and trails, and for any restrictions, see SummitPost and 14ers.com.

Alternate Titles:

The Standard Route is up the Northwest Ridge, leaving from the Missouri Gulch Trailhead - 10.5 miles, 4500' gain - Class 2

The West Ridge route has different starting points depending on how far up the road you can drive.  The longest trip, starting from the Rockdale Trailheadis 11.75 miles and 4250' gain - Class 2

The snow-climb route is via several North Face Couloirs, starting at the Missouri Gulch Trailhead - 9 miles, 4500' gain - Difficult Class 2
