Hiking – Red Mountain Open Space

Enjoyable 6.7 mile hike through Red Mountain Open Space on Bent Rock, K-Lynn Cameron, and Ruby Wash trails. Beautiful sandstone sedimentary geology along with historic homestead buildings on this route.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Dirt roads were dry and passable.

We had a very nice time hiking through the south and west portion of the beautiful Red Mountain Open Space.  By the time we stopped for lunch at noon, we were past the shady Boxelder Creek draw, and on the sunny Bent Rock trail.  The last two miles included exploring the alabaster and gypsum in that area.
